The alluring qualities of the water’s edge have long been a source of inspiration for the human soul. Where water meets land is an area of calming energy. The sound of the waves encourage you to pause and reflect. Tranquil and capricious shorelines invite introspection, so people tend to separate themselves to rejuvenate and relax.
Shorelines is an intimate group of photographs by Sarah Hood Salomon. She explores many types of waterfronts and the pacific effects they have on humans. Salomon employs camera movement and a de-saturated color palette to emphasize the self-imposed solitudes of people alone with their thoughts.
