Most known for his urban murals across Washington, D.C., including the celebration of Black Americans at Ben’s Chili Bowl and the soulful image of Marvin Gaye in Shaw, Aniekan Udofia is sharing 17 of his watercolors for the first time — each one representing a stage through the rights of passage to internal enlightenment according to the monomyth of Joseph Campbell.

In a solo art exhibition titled Return of the Shaolin Pencil, Client Raiser is partnering with Woolly Mammoth Theater Company on this show, which is being curated by Ashley Templeton. The art opening will be held on Sunday, September 18 after that day’s matinee of Ain’t No Mo’ from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. An art talk will take place on Thursday, September 22 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. before that evening’s performance.

Wooly Mammoth is located 641 D St NW, Washington, DC 20004
