Arlington Arts Center is looking for instructors for their upcoming art classes. This is a contracted position starting at $32/hour for instructors with a BA/BFA and $35/hour for instructors with an MA/MFA. They are looking for art instructors interested in teaching onsite at AAC and/or offsite classes in partnership with local elementary schools. Instructors are responsible for the following:

  • Developing a unique art curriculum that provides high quality arts education for children, teens and/or adults. They strongly discourage craft projects and encourage instructors to use fine arts practices in developing their curriculum.
  • Preparing and organizing supplies for projects.
  • Communicating consistently and openly with AAC staff through email and sometimes over the phone when necessary.

Onsite classes will run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Youth classes run from 4:30pm-6pm, and adult classes are from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Offsite enrichment classes are generally offered to elementary-age students weekdays at or around 3:00pm.

All instructors must pass background checks. If interested, please email with the following:

  • Resume
  • 3 images of your artwork
  • 3 images of student’s artwork
  • Preferred age group to work with (2-4, 5-7, 8-10, 11-14, 14-18, and 18+)
