Call for artists who are military veterans to submit application for an exhibition scheduled for October-November 2019 at the very large and light filled King Street Gallery in the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation Art Center located at 930 King Street, Silver Spring, MD 20910 (Montgomery College in downtown Silver Spring).  The exhibit, to be named Service, Passion, Art: Veteran Artists will aim to bring together work by military veterans that reflects their experience in the military.  This can mean art work made while deployed, in combat or not, or made since deployment that expresses something about or documents that experience.  The work does not have to be very recent, but should preferably refer to the experiences of veterans since 2001.

Please send 6-8 examples of your work, along with an image list and an artist’s statement.  You can send this via DropBox or directly as a package to the curator, Dr. Claudia Rousseau, Montgomery College, Department of Visual and Performing Arts, CF 128, 7600 Takoma Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912.  Please share this call.
