What is Social Justice?

So·cial jus·tice, noun, “justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society.” Social justice aims to right the wrongs that have been ever-present in recent times as well as times well past — but hopefully not the future.

Social justice takes many forms; artists are invited to submit art that represents struggles and causes that affect any group of people with the goal of helping them achieve one (or more) of the four pillars of social justice: equity, access, participation, and rights.

Artists often struggle with the financial side of the art businesses; many are familiar with the term “starving artists.”

Art For Your Cause aims to do more than help artists avoid starvation; it helps artists thrive financially while driving funding to good causes.

Start and End dates of the contest

  • The contest starts on 11/4/2020
  • The contest ends on Giving Tuesday, which, this year, falls on December 1st
