The 2021 Trawick Prize: Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards application is now available. The Trawick Prize awards up to $14,000 to visual artists from DC/MD/VA each year. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 12.
All original 2-D and 3-D fine art including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber art, digital, mixed media and video will be accepted. The jury will select up to 10 finalists for a group exhibition in Bethesda in September 2021. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and permanent, full-time residents of Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C.
Prizes:
- Best in Show – $10,000
- Second Place – $2,000
- Third Place – $1,000
- Young Artist (must be born after April 12, 1991 to be eligible for this category) – $1,000

- Mark Cooley; Director of New Media Arts & Associate Professor, George Mason University
- Oletha DeVane; Director, Tuttle Gallery at McDonogh School, Former Trawick Prize Winner
- Betsy Johnson; Assistant Curator, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden
