MiniSolos@Touchstone is a once a year opportunity for area artists to have a mini show in our contemporary gallery. Touchstone Gallery will provide the services of the director, show invitations, an opening reception, PR and marketing of the show to the news outlets, inclusion on the gallery website and social media.

36 spaces for wall-mounted work are about 4 ft. wide by 10 ft. high (which includes adequate spacing between each artist’s groupings).

2 floor spaces for sculptures are available and will be 5 ft. by 5 ft. (Assorted pedestals available on site).

Eligibility: This exhibit is open to artists 18 and older who can hand deliver their work to Touchstone Gallery and pick up their work from Touchstone Gallery.

Digital Image Screening: Applicants must send digital images and sizes of the works they want to exhibit. To do this, download the application form at Fill it out and email it along with your images to No entry fee is required. Images will be reviewed by a committee of Touchstone artists. A $250 hanging fee must be paid by the selected artists to reserve exhibition space. Click here for application.

Application deadline: Tuesday, May 26, 2015, by 12 midnight. Application package must include the application form along with the images you intend to show.

Notification of acceptance: Thursday, June 4, 2015 by email.

Payment deadline to insure space reservation: Friday, June 5, 2015 by 5pm. $250 Hanging fee by credit card by  phone (202-347-2787) or in person. (If we don’t hear by then, we will strike the name of the non-respondent, and select the next name on the list.)


  • Delivery of Artwork: Sunday, August 2, 2015 – 12 noon – 5pm & Monday, August 3, 2015 – 9am – 12 noon
  • Exhibition dates: August 7 – 27, 2015
  • Opening Reception: Friday, August 7, 6 – 8:30pm
  • Removal of artwork: Friday, August 28, 2015 – 11am – 6pm & Saturday, August 29, 2015 – 12 noon – 5pm
  • Invitation Cards Pick Up: Cards designed and printed by Touchstone Gallery will be available for pick up after June 27, 2015

Artwork Requirements: All wall-mounted artwork must be original, suitably framed, and prepared for hanging. No piece may measure more than 45 inches in width including frame, or weight more than 25 pounds. (Mini show spaces can accommodate, for example, 2 large pieces 45” wide by 50” high, or 12 small pieces 20” wide by 14” high.) Sculpture must be original and ready for presentation, not to weigh over 40 pounds. All work must be for sale.

Liability: All reasonable care will be taken to assure the safety of the art work. However, Touchstone Gallery will not be liable for any damage or loss during delivery, exhibition, storage, or removal. The artist is responsible for insuring his/her own work.

Fee: There is no entry fee. Upon acceptance of the artist’s work, a hanging fee of $250 is required to reserve exhibition space. Payment by credit card only (Visa/Mastercard/ American Express/Discover/Diners Club). Sales: All artwork must be for sale. The gallery will take a 40% commission on sale of all artwork.

Delivering Work: Delivered artwork must be accompanied by 3 documents which are available for download on Touchstone’s website

  1. Application form – printed, completed and signed.
  2. Two descriptive labels for each artwork. One attached to the back and one to the front (removable on the front). Each label has to include: artist name, title, medium, size, and price.
  3. Exhibiting Artist Contract/Agreement – printed, completed and signed.

OPENING RECEPTION: Friday, August 7, 6 – 8:30pm Touchstone will host an opening reception. Refreshments will be provided by the Gallery.

Retrieval Of Work: All work MUST be picked up by 5pm Saturday, August 29, between 12 noon and 5pm. Work not picked up at that time will be charged $25/day storage fee. After 1 week, the Gallery will not be responsible for returning the work.
