Target Gallery invites national and international artists to apply for Culture Shock an exhibition exploring the influence of pop culture and street art in contemporary works. Artists working in pop, street, graffiti, and mural art styles are encouraged to apply. This is an all-media group exhibition but we will have a special opportunity for artists to also submit designs for a temporary mural to go on the back wall of the gallery for the duration of the exhibition as well.
About the Juror
Alex Goldstein is a DC-based graffiti artist as well as the founder and Gallery Director of The Fridge. Ever since it opened its doors in 2009, The Fridge has showcased street art from emerging and established artists. The Fridge is located in the historic Eastern Market neighborhood of Washington, DC and doubles as a venue for performers, musicians, dancers and more. The Fridge is dedicated to making the arts accessible to everyone by fostering community dialogue and serving as a creative lab for expression through art.
