By Editorial Team on May 10, 2022

Deadline: Tue, 31 May 2022

Washington Studio School (WSS) seeks a Summer Programs Intern interested in art education. This paid internship is perfect for a college art student who would like to learn more about the world of teaching art, and who enjoys interacting with both students and faculty.

The intern will work directly with the Artistic Director and assist WSS faculty with our 4-week High School Teen Summer Intensive Program during the month of July (5-29). The WSS teen program is for motivated high school artists who may be building a portfolio or are honing their skills. The intern will help with classroom prep as well as assist the instructors and students with their drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage-based projects. There will be other opportunities to support other summer programs at WSS, including exhibition openings, free public programs, and more.

The intern will gain first-hand experience in the world of art education and programming of a nonprofit arts organization. Interns may be college or graduate/post-graduate students or recent graduates who are looking to establish a career path in the arts.

The intern is required to commit a minimum of 16 hours per week for four weeks (the duration of the program). This is a paid position at $15/hour.
