If your travel plans this summer include Amsterdam, no doubt you’ll be spending the day along the city’s museumplein savoring the Rijksmuseum (home of Rembrant’s Night Watch), Van Gogh Museum or the newly-expanded Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art. While these three are must-stops on any art lover’s European tour, save time for an outdoor excursion just a few blocks south to the ArtZuid International Sculpture Route. The Route features 70 sculptures by 21 international artists as weaves its way through Amsterdam’s Oud Zuid neighborhood, a charming residential neighborhood with architecture dating back to the 1920’s. A free morning on a recent trip left me enough time to savor just part of the route.
