14th Annual East of the River Exhibition

Opening Reception: Saturday, June 12 from 6pm to 8pm

Celebrate the greatness of Ward 7 and 8 based artists all summer. ARCH Development (Anacostia Arts Center, The HIVE 2.0, Honfleur Gallery) and the Black Artists of DC (BADC) have partnered for the 14th Annual East of the River exhibition. Co-curated by Terence Nicholson, Jess Randolph, Zsudayka Nzinga Terrell and Zoma Wallace.

Dedicated to showcasing the creative brilliance East of the River, this year’s exhibit will feature fourteen unique creative with dynamic stories to tell through visual arts. Bids for artwork can be placed both online and in person. They will be adhering to social distancing procedures provided by the Mayor’s office. Don’t forget to bring your mask.

The exhibition will run from June 11, 2021 through July 24, 2021. Artists include: Deidre Bell, Jay Coleman,Diane English, Chinedu Felix, Victoria Ford, Nicolette Gordon, Dwayne Martin,Edmond, Nassau Luis Peralta, Zalika Perkins, Elizabeth Stewart, Terence Sloan and James Terrell.

About the Partners

ARCH is a small, nonprofit neighborhood-based organization with its entire focus on the economic regeneration of Washington DC’s Historic Community of Anacostia, using arts, culture, and the creative economy. Dedicated to Anacostia since 1986, ARCH Development celebrates excellence East of The River daily. The founding purpose of BADC is to sustain a thriving community that promotes, develops, and validates the cultures, artistic expressions, and aspirations of artists of Black-Afrikan ancestry, especially those with close ties to the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

The exhibition is located at Anacostia Arts Center, 1231 Good Hope Rd. SE.
