On March 17 and 18 from Noon to 5pm, The Friends of the Yellow Barn, the nonprofit organization supporting the Yellow Barn, will host the 19th Annual High School Exhibition providing young artists in the DC, Virginia, and Maryland area. This exhibition is one of the most competitive competitions for young artists in the DMV area, and offers students the chance to be recognized and rewarded for their artistic excellence. All 40 artists will receive a gift certificate for Art Supplies, with a top prize of $500, a second place award of $250, and a third place award of $150. All prizes are provided by Plaza Art Materials and will be awarded at a reception on Sunday, March 18, from 4pm to 5pm.

The Friends of the Yellow Barn is also pleased to announce three Outstanding Teachers will be recognized with a monetary prize of $250. These teachers are nominated by their students, and will be acknowledged the night of the reception for their year round hard work in cultivating and inspiring young minds.

Throughout the year, The Yellow Barn offers art classes and workshops to students of all levels and abilities, but every spring the Friends of the Yellow Barn puts a spot light specifically on the future artists that will flood the future with beauty, creativity, and inspiration. They hope you join us March 17 and 18 to see the future of the arts.
