Opening Reception: Saturday, October 7 from 5pm to 7pm

The past last several years have been some of the most eventful of artist Andrei Kushnir’s career. The publication of his book Oh, Shenandoah, by a Shenandoah Valley publisher, no less, certainly was a milestone, and the two exhibitions of paintings from the book, in a Valley museum and University art gallery have brought him additional notice in art circles and the press. A third exhibition is now scheduled in 2018 at the Virginia Historical Society, Richmond, VA, with the Society planning travelling exhibits afterwards.

Apart from paintings created in the Valley, Andrei has been working on a related project to paint views on the Shenandoah Valley from above, on Skyline Drive. The resulting exhibition, with accompanying catalog, contains images of these 20 paintings, created during all seasons of the year and times of day. The catalog, available on request, contains engaging verses for some of the images by fellow artist Michele Martin Taylor. The result is a journey to the BLUE RIDGE of Virginia via his studio/gallery here in Washington, DC on MacArthur Blvd., NW.

An opening reception will be held from 5-7 PM on Saturday, October 7. Salt & Pepper Restaurant will provide light refreshments.

Gallery Hours:

  • Wednesday through Saturday: 11am to 7pm
