Blank Space SE, formerly known as the Creative Entrepreneur’s Gallery, has partnered with ArtBae for a year-long curatorial partnership. Artbae focuses on bringing beauty out of chaos by allowing art to heal, inspire, and provide hope. Through this dynamic partnership, Blank Space SE will scale it’s programming initiatives while supporting the development of a new generation of artists in the DMV. Artists will 1.) Host a community workshop on their specialty, 2.) Participate in an online artist’s talk, 3.) Showcase their work in the HIVE 2.0. Each show will have its own theme and personality, giving artists an opportunity to make their mark as creators. The partnership is slated to begin in December 2020 and run through November 2021.
The HIVE 2.0 is a project of ARCH Development, a Ward 8 nonprofit with over 35 years serving the Historic Anacostia neighborhood. ARCH believes that small businesses, the creative economy, and the arts are the cornerstones of inclusive community development. ARCH’s goal is neighborhood revitalization, not gentrification. ARCH’s strategic plan is the result of years of working in Historic Anacostia, for Historic Anacostia alongside the community. Blank Space SE is The HIVE 2.0’s way of celebrating the beauty in the creative ecosystem of the DMV as a whole.
