56 Art Studios To Open Throughout Arlington September 17-18

Area residents will be able to see a wider array of art than ever before at the Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour this September.

Fifty-six artists have signed up to open their studios to the public on the weekend of September 17 and 18 from 11 am to 5 pm each day.  The Tour will offer a free guide to what’s on view where, so that anyone can meet the artists in their maker spaces and see examples of their work.  The guide will be made available online and in print form at libraries, community centers, and galleries throughout Arlington.  The guide will be published in early September.  AVAST offers photos of many artists in their studios on their web page.

Visitors will see all kinds of painting, plus assemblage, collage, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture, weaving and fiber, drawing, papercutting, glass, metalwork, calligraphy and jewelry.

This year will mark the fifth Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour, which is a joint effort of independent artists and volunteers, supported by contributors including Schnider Investment Group and Dominion Lighting and in cooperation with Arlington’s visual art organizations.
