About the Artist

“I see life through the eyes of a dreamer… It moves before me in shades of black and white…”
– Dominique Fierro

Born in Washington, DC, Fierro is a native east coaster who began her career as a photographer early on. Earning her degree from the Art Institute in 2003 Dominique has spent the last several years traveling and bringing the background into the forefront.

Last year she was selected as the exclusive photographer to capture history when President Barack Obama hosted a dinner honoring Senator John McCain. Dominique’s work has been featured in a variety of DC hotspots including MTV’s “Real World DC” house, ArtDC, FotoDC FLASH, Art Soiree, Divino Lounge and Peacock Cafe.

With a love for nature and a will to capture the soul of everyone she photographs, Dominique’s style is intricate and captures movement ripe with qualities of depth. As an artist, she creates work that is moved and inspired by life and emotion. She takes reality and makes it superb, showing that within simplicity, there is a beautiful and complex picture living and breathing behind it all.

Inspired by photographers Patrick Demarchelier, Helmut Newton and Ellen Von  Unwerth, she also has a love of fashion and works as a display artist. Fierro’s work has been showcased at Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus where she has created impactful window and store displays as well as floral design.

In an effort to help draw attention to meaningful causes, Fierro donates a portion of the proceeds for all of her fine artwork to humanitarian organizations Save Darfur and Enough Project, and also volunteers her photography services to non-profit groups including Taproot Foundation and Capital Partners for Education.

Recent work by Fierro has been featured in the Washington Post and exhibited at Photo DC (Formerly DC Photoweek ).
