Opening Reception: Thursday, December 13 from 6:30pm to 8pm

Painter, Architect and native Washingtonian Milton Shinberg revisits, reexamines and re-cognizes Washington over the arc of his many years here through an exhibit of twenty-two watercolor paintings. Familiar Washington scenes may not always be easy to identify as new vantage points and changing interests have guided his exploration of the Capital City. There is memory and discovery, old and new —paintings as love notes to the city. The theme of the show was generated in part by Beauty & Brains, a graduate theory course Shinberg teaches at Catholic University, delving into the cognitive neuroscience of aesthetics, a study of reCognition and design.
