Opening Reception: Saturday, June 29 from 3pm to 8pm

Art Options presents a look into the sights, vitality, and culture of summertime. The artistic expressions displayed in this exhibit are examples seen from the eyes of our talented patrons. Some may see these artists and hark on what they surmise as disadvantages, but the advantages of their unique perspective lend to vibrant expressions of the season we all love and enjoy. Summertime Vibes will be on exhibit from June 29 through August 11.

Art Options is an arts-infused program designed to support the development of employment, social, communication and life management skills for young adults of all abilities in the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. Participants use their innate talent and community experiences to create works of art. Participants engage with the arts community through classes, volunteering, and visiting exhibits and museums. These experiences contribute to artistic exchange and enhance the artists’ career development.

All Art Options artists learn promotional skills, in addition to fine arts training. All works are available for sale, with seventy-five percent of proceeds going directly to the artist and twenty-five percent used to purchase supplies and grow the program.

St. John’s Community Services is one of the oldest and most respected non-profit agencies in DC. For 150 years, St. John’s has been committed to advancing community support and opportunities for people living with disabilities.

Summertime Vibes’ opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 29 from 3 to 8pm with a complementary Paint and Sip event occurring during the opening from 4:30 to 5:30.
