A Little Mind Music by Marian Osher ©2021, acrylic painting, 11” h x 14”w
Opening Reception: Sunday, September 11 from 2pm to 5pm

Marian Osher combines an intuitive creative process with music and meditation to develop her paintings. Playfulness, mindfulness and experimentation all play a part in this exhibition. Mind Music includes over 40 lyrical, colorful paintings that explore both figurative and abstract imagery.

“Mind Music is lovingly dedicated to Robert Allen Siskind, better known as Bob, my brother, my close friend, a creative muse, and my hero.  Although Bob passed away in February 2020, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, his legacy continues to be an inspiration.” – Marian Osher

A portion of sales from this exhibition will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, a National non-profit that funds transformative research for early detection and innovative treatments, advocates for increased research funding, and provides resource and support for pancreatic cancer patients and caregivers.

Marian Osher is a painter, printmaker, mixed-media artist and private art instructor. Mind Music is her 28th solo show. She has had 6 solo shows in New York. Her artwork has been shown in numerous group exhibitions in the US, and in international shows in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, India and Italy. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Museum of Modern Art (Buenos Aires, Argentina), among others. She was featured as a Spotlight Artist for the NY Examiner in 2016. Osher has been a resident artist at Artists and Makers Studios since November 2017. She received her BA (University of Maryland) and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking (George Washington University) and took numerous art courses at Montgomery College in Maryland.
