Artventures on H H Street Art Walk on East City Art | EVENTS |

Event takes place: Thursday June 30 from 5:30pm to 8pm.

On June 30, CHAMPS – Capitol Hill’s Chamber of Commerce, H Street Main Street and East City Art present ARTventures on H. From 5:30-8pm,16 different galleries and venues in the H Street, NE Corridor area will open their doors for a special Art Walk and associated discounted Dine Around. Participants will be given an ARTventures “passport,” to be punched at each stop on the art walk. For every punch received, attendees receive an extra 2% discount that evening from 7-9:30pm at any of 19+ participating restaurants, cafes, and bars on H Street, NE. Passports will be available at each of the art walk stops; attendees choose their own starting points.

“I’m thrilled about producing ARTventures on H again,” said Julia Christian, CHAMPS Executive Director, “and this time it’s even more special because we’ll be celebrating the long awaited completion of the construction along the H Street Corridor. We also have some exciting new things planned for this edition of ARTventures, including Little Miss Whiskeys’ ever popular Garage Sale, where patrons can choose from a wide variety of funky pieces that have been created and/or collected by Whiskeys’ owner Mark Thorp and his staff over the years. We have some pretty ground breaking displays this time around, including an installation of yarn bombing at Jimmy Valentine’s at 1103 Bladensburg Road.”

A combined 2500 people attended the first two ARTventures on H events in June 2010 and Feb 2011. “It is so exciting to be part of such a collaborative group of businesses,” says Christian. “The H Street business community truly sees the benefit of working together and ARTventures on H is the perfect example of that. Add to that the collective relief of the nearing end of the construction, and it should be a night filled with celebration and good cheer.”
