Zofie King will be showing five pieces that are based on stories told by her Polish maternal grandmother Zofia Stawiak, who became a forced laborer in Germany in the spring of 1940, at the age of 14. The mixed media assemblages include themes of faith, kindness, cruelty, physical endurance, and creativity during this pivotal time in history.
Zofie King will show alongside Catherine Day and Amelia Hankin Cashin, whose work you can check out here catherineday.net and here ameliahankin.com.
