Athenaeum Gallery Presents Natalie Cox

By Editorial Team on November 1, 2021
Ever Changing Landscape (detail), by Natalie Cox, acrylic paint and ink on canvas, 32” x 32”, 2019
Opening Reception: Sunday, November 7 from 4pm to 6pm

Natalie Cox creates landscape paintings that represent her visual expression of a strangely abstract domain. Her non-representational landscape and portal-like compositions create an illusionistic world that allows the viewer to decide what forms are familiar to them while correlations between her work and today’s environmental issues can be perceived.

Virginia artist Natalie Cox graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the concentrations of drawing and painting. Her Graduating Senior Thesis Exhibition was displayed in 2019 in the Sella-Granata Art Gallery in Tuscaloosa. In 2021 she completed a residency at the McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville, VA.
