Photographing our most celebrated monuments and architectural masterpieces in his Perishable series, Joshua Dunn seeks to capture lasting impressions of the symbolic structures that represent the US Initially attracted to his subjects for the permanence of the methods and materials used to construct these landmark buildings, his perspective shifted following the events of September 11, 2001. Dunn enlisted in the US Army in 2004 and served in combat in Iraq. A veteran, who was awarded the Bronze Star, he now works as a civilian Geospatial Analyst and lives in Bethesda, MD. Dunn was originally trained as a large format film photographer, but now primarily creates multiple-row, high dynamic range panoramas in digital format. He earned his BA in Photography from Savannah College of Art where he is currently enrolled in the MFA in Photography program.
About the Artist: Joshua Dunn is a photographer based in Bethesda, MD. He is a husband, a father and a veteran who is currently a student in the Savannah College of Art and Design’s Master of Fine Arts in Photography program. Originally trained as a large format film photographer he has been photographing for over twenty years.
