Hispanic Heritage Film Series: The Art House

  • October 3, 2019:
    Memoria del Subdesarrollo (Memories of Underdevelopment)
    Directed by Tomas Gutierrez Alea – 1969, Cuba
  • October 10, 2019:
    La Mujer Sin Cabeza (The Headless Woman)
    Directed by Lucrecia Martel – 2008, Argentina

In celebration of Hispanic History Month, Brentwood Arts Exchange, in collaboration with University of Maryland’s School of Language and Culture Associate Professor Ryan Long, will feature a selection of three influential, cinematic tour-de-forces, discussing such important themes as; revolution, emotional crisis, changing political times and psychological intrigue. Each screening will be followed by by a discussion from series curator Ryan Long. All films are FREE and open to the public.
