East City Art Presents the 2025 Capital Art Book Fair
Building on the success of previous years, East City Art is thrilled to announce the return of the Capital Art Book Fair at Eastern Market’s North Hall. This unique cultural event is open to the public, free of charge.

The fair’s third edition will host a rich array of exhibitors, with over 30 participating entities from across the DMV area and beyond, showcasing a diverse mix of art books, prints, zines, graphic novels, and more.

Collaborative Programming with Capitol Hill Arts Workshop and Hill Center
East City Art continues its partnership with nearby cultural institutions to offer enriching on and offsite programming during the fair. Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) will host a variety of art workshops led by DC-based artist Carolina Mayorga, allowing attendees to engage in bookmaking and more. Additionally, Hill Center will feature the 2025 Hill Center Galleries Regional Juried Exhibition, showcasing a diverse collection of artworks from over 100 local artists.

Saturday, April 5
Nancy Arbuthnot and Carolina Mayorga: Book signing at noon
Carolina Mayorga: Family activity from 12-2pm
Blas Goncalves: Drawing/cartooning activity, from 2-4pm
Khadija Jahmila: Family activity from 12-2pm

Sunday, April 6
Nancy Artbuthnot: Animal Card activity at 1pm

Enhanced Experience with Superfine Art Fair
Superfine Art Fair will present a curated exhibition of art books from its expansive global community of over 5,000 artists in a designated project space. This selection will emphasize DMV artists from the fair’s repertoire, ahead of their highly anticipated fall 2025 DC fair.

Location Details
Eastern Market’s North Hall is located at 225 7th Street SE, Washington, DC, 20003. The venue can be accessed from the south via the indoor food stalls or from the north at North Carolina Avenue SE, just a block from the Metro, ensuring easy accessibility for all attendees.
