Opening Reception: Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 5pm to 7pm

The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) presents an exhibition of works by photographer Kristoffer Tripplaar.  Kristoffer Tripplaar covers the White House and the President from the perspective of the press. Admission is free for the opening reception and the exhibit, which closes on August 31, 2012.

Kristoffer Tripplaar photographs presidents, post offices and the tangible remains of cast-off ideas. His time is spent in two distinct but heavily dependent worlds, the seat of power from which those ideas come and the landscape that is changed by it. Growing up in Washington, D.C., and discovering photography here has left him a never-ending curiosity and urge to explore the results and leftovers of the ideas and decisions that emanate from this place.

Mr. Tripplaar is a Washington, DC native and a graduate of the Corcoran College of Art & Design. In the world of Photojournalism he is represented by Sipa Press and his photographs have been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Newsweek, Time, Fortune, Rolling Stone and People.
