The Department of Art, Salve Regina Art Gallery at The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC is pleased to present a group exhibition of drawings, prints, and paintings. Outside Narratives: Modern Stories of the Outside World, curated by Kevin Mitchell.
Seven artists will be featured in the show: Sara Clark, Ryan Hackett, Regina Miele, Stephen Lewis, Nora Sturges, Tim Vermeulen, and John Figura. The theme is an attempt to show narratives that involve natural, outdoor observations to create current stories or transformations. Whether derivative from an earlier myth, place or natural form, each account shows an involved evolution, omen or literal coordinates to a present state, such as Tim Vermeulen’s Lazarus type wanderings investigating his surroundings or Nora Sturges barren landscapes littered with human cultural/industrial remnants.
