Opening Reception: Saturday, June 24 from 5pm to 8pm

Centerfold Artist is excited to present Richard DuBeshter’s newest work, Idiosyncratic Observations. In this series Richard traverses sculpture, painting, printmaking, ritual, the visceral, and the personal with a sense of whimsy. He uses paper as the ground for this work, creating juxtaposition to his other gritty surfaces and oil-based paint. In a post-Roshenburgian world, his inspiration can come from the typography of a human arm or the beauty of a young buck’s antlers. His intent is to create waves of memories or associations and share glimpses from his own view of the world.

Richard grew up in Miami Beach, got his BFA from University of South Florida in Printmaking in 1974 and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Generative Systems in 1979. His work has always been interested in found materials and using them as his source. Whether finding a dead creature and xeroxing its aura, or combining materials to make ritual objects, he is connected to the spirit of the things we might discard, seeing them as the chards of our lives.

Centerfold Artist Studio is located at 703 Edgewood St NE Suite # 2
