In honor of Women’s History month, Color Story Creative is proud to present HER STORY, an art installation which uses the power of female creativity to celebrate and amplify women’s voices.

The show will open on Saturday, March 24th at 6 p.m. in Studio SoHy, an art gallery located within Vigilante Coffee Company in Hyattsville, Md.

HER STORY is the collaborative effort of Betsy Martin, Krissi Humbard & Bronwyn King, three women interested in creating a visual experience that reflects the current arc of the female narrative.

With an aim to uplift and empower, this collaboration results in a vivid journey dominated by color and type. Attendees can expect to see mural walls and large scale fiber pieces, as well as interactive pieces inviting the viewer to share their story.

Prior to the art opening, and in an effort to bring the national conversation to the local level, a panel comprised of kick-ass female business owners will discuss their successes and challenges. Panelists include: Ruth Gesser, Chef & Owner of Pizzeria Paradiso; Ashley Bodine, Co-Owner & COO of Vigilante Coffee Company; Angela Justice, Co- Founder of Green Owl Design; and Heather Roymans, Partner & Executive Director of IFDC. This lively discussion will be led by Kate Taylor Davis, Executive Director of Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.

“I am excited that HER STORY is connecting our local community of women who are ‘killin’ it’ daily,” Davis said. “We need a place and outlet for some real talk about challenges and victories. I am looking forward to being in a space, both physical and mental, where her story is our story. Let’s get it out there!”

The panel will begin at 4 p.m. at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, followed by a meet & greet social at 5 p.m. in CAMPspace, a newly opened event and co-working space in Hyattsville.

The panel and meet & greet portion of the evening will take place from 4-6 p.m. and will be a ticketed event. Purchase tickets here.

HER STORY opens from 6-9 p.m. and is free to all. The show will stay on view through late spring.
