On March 23 and 24, 2019, the Friends of the Yellow Barn, the nonprofit organization supporting the Yellow Barn Studio, will host the 20th Annual High School Exhibition. This exhibit provides young artists in the DC metropolitan area with the chance to be recognized and rewarded for their artistic excellence.  The juror for this year’s show is Jack Rasmussen, Director of the American University Katzen Art Museum and a distinguished artist and curator.  All artists accepted in this show will receive a gift certificate for Art Supplies, with a top prize of $500, a second place award of $250, and a third place award of $150. All prizes are provided by Plaza Art Materials and the Friends of the Yellow Barn.

The Friends of the Yellow Barn will also recognize Outstanding Teachers with a monetary prize of $100.  These teachers are nominated by their students and will be acknowledged at the reception for their year round hard work in cultivating and inspiring young minds.

For more information on the exhibition, please visit the Yellow Barn webpage, www.yellowbarnstudio.com, or contact Jack Albrittain, exhibition coordinator, at jalbrittain910@gmail.com.
