G Fine Art at the (e)merge art fair

By Editorial Team on October 3, 2012

G Fine Art will present a suite of new works by Patrick McDonough that address the tensions inherent between notions of sustainability, leisure, thermics, and aesthetics. This presentation will run concurrently with McDonough’s solo exhibition at the gallery.

G Fine art will show in Room 205

With works conceptualized specifically for this context, McDonough employs the signs, materials and processes native to both our passive and active relationships with our habitat. In doing so, he asks us to consider some of our most structural desires-from staying cool to getting hot, from forecasting to relaxing.

Patrick McDonough (b 1982), is an interdisciplinary artist based in Washington DC. His wide ranging practice examines issues of the vernacular, existentialism, class, and free time through a blend of wit, playfulness, and provocation. McDonough has exhibited widely, with forthcoming exhibitions the American University Museum at the Katzen Center (solo), and the Hyde Park Art Center (Chicago).

G Fine Art is located at 1350 Florida Avenue NE
