Gallery 102 and artist Ozzy are pleased to present their MFA Thesis show ▢ Other. This exhibition focuses on the other as a category of gender, the kind of option we might find—or might not find—as a box to tick on many required forms that force us to choose one identity. The exhibition creates a space for viewers to explore their own concept of identity through journeys on pathways, coloring with crayons, and acts of gameplay that explore the spectrum of gender.
Thursday November 29th, 2018 // 6:00-8:00 pm: Join Gallery 102, and artist Ozzy for an opening reception where light food and refreshments will be served.
Ozzy is an American artists who was born and raised in Gatlinburg TN where they began to explore their gender identity through late night moonlight walks on gravel pathways. Their parents were members of a fifteen mile stretch of arts and crafts stores where they were able to experience a multitude of materials. They would later receive their bachelor in fine arts from East Tennessee State University before moving to the DC metropolitan area where they entered into GW Corcoran School of Arts and Design.
