Opening Reception: Friday, June 23 from 7pm to 9pm

Gallery O on H (well known for their championing of outsider art and promoting the work of local, upcoming talent) is taking on the current political administration with Who’s Looking Back—an immersive experience using crowd-sourced photos of the protests and marches starting from the inauguration and continuing until the opening of the show—June 20, six months out of from the inauguration.

Artists are encouraged to submit their images (it is free to submit and artists retain the right to all work, although some images may be used as promotion with credit given to the artists) through the submittable link found on the Gallery’s website Gallery O on H’s walls will become a visual time tunnel of images starting with the historic Women’s March which took place January 21, and continue to include images from the protests and marches in the weeks and months after. Its effect challenging the viewer to reflect on how they have related to, reacted to, resisted, and/or re-committed in the 6-months since January 20th. The gallery is also creating programming to accompany the show in the forms of panels, ways to participate, and reading lists.

Quote from Dolly: The focus for this installation is not just about reactions to a singular event in January. It is about any/all images of the marches, demonstrations, street art or personal expressions that reflect the 6-months since January 20th. Our goal is to bring forward in great unedited abundance a “loud” unrestricted opportunity to share any/all of the Images “living” only in cameras or on phones.

Gallery Hours:

  • Tuesday – Friday: 3:30pm to 7pm
  • Saturday: 11am to 3pm

Gallery OonH is located at 1354 H Street NE.
