During July, Gallery Underground features creative work interpreting the topical (and tropical) theme “Hot!” in their Focus Gallery. Come in and cool off with a dose of sizzling artistry! Visitors will also find new works by Gallery members in the main gallery including paintings, sculpture, glass, ceramics, and woodworking.

This month’s featured artist is watercolorist Tony Neville whose show, “Our National Mall in Color,” depicts vivid local scenes including the Capitol, Washington Monument, and Jefferson Memorial.

Each month the gallery changes its entire exhibit and presents a new show from its talented members in many forms: paintings, sculpture, glass and ceramic work, jewelry, mixed media and photography. Gallery Underground anchors the visual arts component of Crystal City’s Art Underground, and on First Fridays (first Friday of every month), it hosts an art reception free and open to all from 5-7pm, along with Crystal City’s Art Underground “First Friday” events where you can also jam at ArtJamz Underground, take a stroll along the Fotowalk, and catch a show at Synetic Theater.
