Reception: Saturday, February 17 from 5pm to 7pm

The Gallery at the Wharf is pleased to present an exhibition featuring emerging artist Alexandra Arata. The All About Color show will run from February 2-23, 2018 with a reception Saturday, February 17 from 5-7pm. The exhibition will feature paintings and sculpture.

Alexandra Arata, an emerging artist from Cordoba, Argentina, creates fresh, vibrant wall and hanging art. Arata celebrates life with colorful and authentic insights integrated into her techniques such as layered, multi-patterned paintings. Shapes, lines and shadows are driving forces of her sculpture.

The use of color is important and energizing. For this show, the walls will be layered with color and patterned paintings and wooden sculpture creating strong shadows. For example, Arata’s featured installation titled Free Flow combines her interest in the commercial arts and her degree in architecture to bring both organization and whimsy to her installation. “I’m drawn to the vibrancy and energy of Argentina and the places I have traveled. My style is grounded in tradition and balanced with modern sensibilities.”

All About Color runs through February 23, 2018. The artist will be present at the reception Saturday, February 17 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
