Reception: Friday, March 16 from 6pm to 8pm
The Gallery at the Wharf is pleased to present an exhibition featuring emerging artist Renee Regan. The Textured Travels show will run from March 3-23, 2018 with a reception Friday, March 16 from 6-8pm. The exhibition will feature photography with enhanced features.
Renee Regan, an emerging artist from Washington, DC, and recent graduate of the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design combines photography of urban scenes and textures into black and white art. Regan is a successful matchmaker where a chance photographic moment bridges up-close details to distant urban scenes. Each black and white shadowed image takes the viewer to a new place.
The dual images in this exhibition are mesmerizing and resonating. The walls will be lined with photography printed on both metal and paper. Regan’s featured installation titled Textured Moments builds on her lifetime of traveling and her technical skills to mold a new artistic scene. “I remove the negative space and replace it with an enhanced positive texture. I’m overjoyed when the element of chance meets opportunity and two images collide.”
