Space Reimagined, an art show by Bushra Shamma and Nancy Ramsey at The Yellow Barn Gallery at Glen Echo Park on September 30, 12:00-6:00 and October 1, 12:00-5:00.

Bushra Shamma started making art in New York where she lived for many years before moving to Northern Virginia in 2008. Bushra’s work has been exhibited in New York and in Limassol, Cyprus, in both solo and group shows. Since her move, Bushra’s work has been exhibited in juried shows at various venues, such as The Art League in Alexandria, Alexandria City Hall, Falls Church Arts Gallery, and most recently at the Phoenix gallery and at East End Arts gallery in NY. Her work has received First Place or Honorable Mention awards in several of these shows. Bushra’s work benefits from her multi-cultural background and experiences. Her forms and her choice of colors re-interpret her emotional reactions to her personal history.

Nancy Ramsey has been creating art for 25 years while also teaching in the public schools. She has studied and exhibited in juried shows through The Art League at Alexandria’s Torpedo Factory throughout that time. Nancy values exploring the natural world and often references nature and the human form within her abstract art. She also enjoys painting more abstractly on intuitive projects in which each stroke forms in response to the one before. Collaborating with other artists, writers and dancers is a particular interest and inspiration.

Yellow Barn Gallery is located at 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD. For more information, visit
