Transformer presents “bay sick: an excursion of perversion,” an exhibition of new artworks by Baltimore, MD based artist Felipe Pereira Gonçalves.
With this exhibition, Gonçalves will be exploring the discomfort and joy of coming-of-age. Using different mediums, techniques, and humor, he creates an interactive environment designed to induce nostalgia and self-reflection. Like the light from a deep-sea anglerfish, Gonçalves’s work entices viewers to enter a world that is normally obscured by reason and fear. Death, childhood, and glitter are nostalgic devices meant to leave one giggling in the face of terror.
