Emerging Visions offers Fairfax County high school students the opportunity to work directly with Greater Reston Arts Center’s (GRACE’s) education staff to create exceptional artworks to be exhibited in the GRACE gallery in celebration of Youth Art Month. Students participating in the 2018 Emerging Visions: Becoming exhibition were encouraged to explore the theme of “becoming” as it relates to the prior GRACE exhibition Sue Wrbican: Well Past the Echo (September 9 — November 18, 2017).

Emerging Visions is an annual program designed to offer high school students interested in visual art a chance to receive professional critique of their artwork and have their artwork installed in a professional setting. Each student is expected to have a fully formed idea, from concept to execution to installation, and work with their teachers and the center’s staff to implement their ideas.

The 2018 exhibition includes work from students at Herndon High School, Oakton High School, and South Lakes High School.

The Greater Reston Arts Center is located at 12001 Market St., Suite 103, Reston, VA. For more information contact info@restonarts.org or (703) 471-9242 or visit http://restonarts.org/exhibition/emerging-visions-2/.
