Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE) is pleased to announce an exhibition by Rahshia Sawyer at Greater Reston Arts Center at Signature. The exhibition by Virginia-based photographer Rahshia Sawyer will run September 28, 2018–January 8, 2019 and features a new body of work, What I Haven’t Told You, which illustrates the tension between emotions expressed and emotions repressed.

Sawyer received her MFA from George Mason University. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and she was included in the 2012 Inaugural Dublin Biennial. She was the 2012 recipient of the Contemporary Talents Award from France’s François Schneider Foundation and received a 2016 Honorable Mention from the International Photography Awards and Prix de la Photographie (Px3). Her work is in the permanent collections of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, François Schneider Foundation, and Radford University Museum.

Greater Reston Arts Center at Signature is an innovative satellite gallery that presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions of local artists selected by GRACE’s curatorial staff. This partnership between Boston Properties, Bozzuto Management, and GRACE merges the vision of the Signature building, which is focused on creating distinctive and personal spaces for residents, and GRACE’s mission in engaging the community through excellence in contemporary visual art. Select local artists are given the opportunity to present a distinct body of work in the space off the grand lobby.

All exhibitions and opening receptions are free and open to the public.

Gallery Hours:
