Shoppers looking for the best in unique and local handmade gifts know GRUMP. The beloved holiday indie-craft show returns to Crystal City December 14, 2019, setting up their cave in the old Tech Shop location at 2100-B Crystal Drive. In addition to over 50 vendors, GRUMP will have three all-day stations to make a craft of your own, including Yeti Crowns made from reclaimed office supplies sponsored by Arlington Arts. The ever-popular Yetis will be on hand for all your Instagram selfie needs and also to judge a make-your-own-ornament competition using (and reusing) supplies brought from the very vendors you will be shopping from! Doors open at 11 am.
Why spend time in lines at cookie-cutter malls when you can meet local vendors selling everything from handmade toys to letterpress cards. Smithsonian’s National Zoo visitors will have the opportunity to find gifts for family and friends at GRUMP, a European-style outdoor market, Dec. 6,7,8 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. during ZooLights, powered by Pepco. Located near the Zoo’s Connecticut Avenue entrance, this alternative art and crafts holiday market features gifts for all ages made by more than 60 local artists across the 3 nights. Unique and quirky finds include handmade clothing, jewelry and toys as well as inventive home décor made from upcycled materials.
