Opening: Thursday, February 22 from 6pm to 8pm

Steven Cushner goes to work every morning and out of his studio flows an astonishing number or great paintings. When it is time to mount an exhibition there is always a wealth of work, enough for multiple shows. So, why not bet on two winning shows? Why not double down? Steven Cushner: DOUBLE DOWN, Show No. 2 is the second of a show in two parts; DOUBLE DOWN, Show No. 2, will open on February 22 and run through March 24, 2018.

This exhibition runs concurrently with WILLEM DE LOOPER, featuring paintings and works on paper created in response to a trip to the Grand Canyon in 1972. Willem de Looper embarked upon a series of paintings and works on paper influenced by the banded strata of the earth, witnessed during this formative trip. The semblance of sublime natural formations was acheived with the use of rollers and several layers of paint. This exhibition is also on view through March 24, 2018.
