Hill Center Galleries is so proud to team up with Uniting US to offer our first entirely virtual online art show featuring the work of veterans, family members and friends. Uniting US, which promotes art-making as a mode of wellness, showcases their artistic expressions through a wide variety of artistic mediums. It reflects all aspects of their service and for many of the artists, has played an important part in healing. National in scope, the over 30 artists in the show have lived in every US state and territory and in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Cynthia Scott, whose work is featured above, calls herself a military nomad both as a child and adult. Though she has now settled in Frederick, Maryland, she was mobilized to the Pentagon after 9/11. Cynthia, who recently completed her Masters of Fine Art in Visual Art at Lesley University, says about her art in the show, “I’m fascinated with perception and how people seek meaning and clarity in contemporary life. People’s visions are real to them because at a neurological level, perception is a combination of belief, imagination, expectation, memory and just a bit of visual sensory input. The new series of Bubble paintings continues my obsession with perception.”
All of the artwork is available for sale. Show runs through December 31, 2020.
