Jennifer Kahn Barlow – Ongoing, In the Comcast Lounge
Delicious moments are when one savors the precious things that surround them: family, friends, a great view, or a delicious treat. Jennifer Kahn Barlow immortalizes DC’s delicious moments and glorious scenery with a new series of work.

Known for her detailed and tantalizing oil paintings of sweets and desserts, Barlow moved to Washington, DC, in 1999 and fell in love with the area. DC’s friendly people, vibrant neighborhoods, endless culture, and rich food scene have become her muse. Blending her enthusiasm for the city and its increasingly popular culinary atmosphere with her passion for painting confections, Barlow enlisted the help of DC’s notable food bloggers, who guided her through some of the best and most popular dining spots.

The resulting paintings offer a unique take on the idea of the “visual foodie” and showcase the joy, awe, and sweetness that DC exudes.

Poe & Puck: The 27th Annual Strathmore Juried Exhibition
Saturday, January 13–Sunday, March 4, 2018
Mansion at Strathmore
Magic meets macabre when artists explore a common theme: the literary genius of Edgar Allan Poe and William Shakespeare. Enjoy a new twist on a treasured tradition, with art that’s inspired by the romance, dreams, and mysterious themes of two iconic authors.

Our annual juried exhibition calls on artists to submit work around a specific theme for consideration by expert jurors. This year’s jurors were Adah Rose Bitterbaum, owner and curator of Adah Rose Gallery, and Lesley Lundgren, exhibition manager at Strathmore.
