About the Artists

Leslie Holt is a painter who often incorporates embroidery in her work. Initially inspired by the imagery of Picasso’s Guernica, Holt’s Unspeakable series displays stitched outlines of distraught women from art history in conversation with acrylic paint abstractions. She is the Co-director of Red Dirt Studio in Mt. Rainier, MD and has recently had solo exhibits at University of Maryland’s Stamp Gallery (College Park, MD), the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington (Arlington, VA), and David Lusk Gallery (Memphis, TN).

George Lorio enjoys the physicality of materials and works with found matter, both natural and man-made, to create sculptures and installations that explore how we interact with the natural world. Lorio has exhibited extensively throughout the US with recent exhibits at Strathmore Art Museum (Bethesda, MD) and the FSU Art Museum (Tallahassee, FL).

Elzie Williams uses magazines and ephemera to create collage sculptures that expose the underlying racial narratives built into contemporary culture through mainstream media. Raised in Baltimore, MD, Williams attended The Cooper Union and has recently participated in several exhibits in New York, NY.
