Latela Curatorial Gallery to host Hydrated Womxn as interactive media exhibition, healing arts residency, and holiday bazaar from November 30 – December 22, curated by The Omi Collective.

The Omi Collective and Latela Curatorial are proud to host Hydrated Womxn, a mixed media art exhibition, interactive healing arts residency, and holiday bazaar featuring 15 interdisciplinary local womxn artist entrepreneurs and their creations.

Hydrated Womxn represents the collaborative manifesto of The Omi Collective, led by curator Sanam Emami. The culmination of the interdisciplinary artistic creations will be showcased on Friday and Saturday evenings, over four weekends from November 30 – December 22, in interactive ritual and ceremony that will include: live projections, live music, guided art visualizations, performance art, music, and dance.

Hydrated Womxn is defined as the mirroring of the nourishment of ourselves with the nourishment of Mother Earth herself,” explains Emami. “ We are microsystems of the world. The most mundane change of patterns can ripple into the biggest creation. We have the power to change the trajectory of our time when we nurture the nutrients of personal embodiment through creativity, clarity, circulation, and replenishment.”

Much of the inspiration for the curation of the space and planned events comes from the art of Naomi Christianson, a co-founder of The Omi Collective. Christianson’s visions of a world where mystical guardians represent the elements air, water, fire and earth include dragons, mermaids, and unicorns. These intricate dreamscapes of the heart’s path encourage the inward journey through the imaginative mind’s eye, nudging with color to celebrate the truth in the hidden, the unseen, and potential creations never experienced before in spaces the mind is yet to believe in. With the help of these mythical creatures, the artist residents will explore their own embodied energetic connections to these elements and their healing potential.

Weekend Themes

  • November 30th Dragon (Earth, Air, and Water)
  • December 6 Space Angel (Ethers, Air)
  • December 13 Unicorn (Earth)
  • December 20th Mermaid (Water, Air)

“This intentional, color, sonic, and movement alchemy residency and holiday bazaar is designed to crystallize the season and welcome in a cycle of expression that keeps us all hydrated and nourished,” explains Christianson. “Guided by these visions and through emergent collaboration, we invite you to deep dive into this imaginative world brimming with sound and vision and discover the nutrients of embodiment of positive change.”

Along with artwork, the healing and arts bizarre will be filled with immersive wellness offerings of local womxn artists with sustainability at the core of the process.

Additional events during the residency will include harp and reiki healing, oracle readings, Yin Yoga, Tai-Chi workshops, movement classes, ritual circles, Lady DJ workshops, elixir happy hours, up-cycle art denim workshop, arts markets, and a winter solstice celebrations.
