They put the camera in visitors’ hands on their Leica T Walking Tours, and to capture the movement of in-house dancers at the Open Leica S Studio, then hold the legacy of 100 years in your hands as you head out on the streets of DC and frame the world via rangefinder on the Leica M; part of our Momenta Workshop. Meet and see the work of photographers Frank Hallam Day, Craig Semetko, Scott Suchman, and Jim Marshall presented by Amelia Davis. Discover all of our events for your daily dose of the photographic.
Leica’s contributions to the evolution of photography have been inventions of inspiration beginning with the creation of the first still 35mm camera, which aligned the scientific mind and meticulous eye of two precision craftsmen. The photographic technician and photographer’s attention to detail over the last century have created both the modern hand-made photographic instruments we use today, which seize fractions of instants from our surrounding world rendering them as the photographer’s frozen visuals that inspire us all to take a closer look. This November, come take a closer look at a collected visual history that truly is man/hand-made.
