On July 19th, Life Pieces To Masterpieces responded quickly to the tensions that followed the verdict in the case of State of Florida vs. George Zimmerman. Through the lenses of Life Pieces’ Human Development System, their Mentors convened their discussion series “Color Me Community Conversations: I Am a Black Man”.

Their Mentors hope that through these conversations they would contribute to mending shared humanity one stitch at a time (#1stitch).

The young men of Life Pieces to Masterpieces want to engage people from all backgrounds in conversations about the various challenges faced throughout the Washington, DC metro area.

Come out on August 15 and join the next conversation. Life Pieces To Masterpieces Mentors share their experiences, use their proven-effective Human Development System and thought-provoking art works to facilitate the on-going Color Me Community Conversations that:

  1. Provide a safe environment for a diverse group of people to discuss challenges in the community and share point-of-views;
  2. Encourage participants to broaden their perspectives on various issues; and
  3. Empower participants to take immediate action to address community issues.

Take the opportunity to exclusively premiere the video: “I Am a Black Man” here.

The exclusive premiere will be held at Charles R Drew Elementary School, which is located at 5600 Eads St, NE. For more information visit www.lifepieces.org.
