Lisa K Rosenstein’s current solo show is up at Gallery 21 through March 28 in Gallery 21 at the Monroe Street Market’s Artswalk. I stopped by today for quick view. Rosenstein is known for her white-on-white palette and obsession with the minutiae of human memory. From her artist statement:
“I ask myself, ‘how are we all connected? how do we remember? how will we be remembered and will be be remembered?’ The passage of time and the keeping of memory, these thoughts are the foundations of my art. I look for ways to present these ideas abstractly by paring down my palette to pure white and using different objects to create text and dimension. the play of light and shadow on the dimensional surfaces create an always the same yet ever changing painting.
If you’re in Brookland, be sure and stop by to see her work!
