Opening: Saturday, November 9 at 7pm

Mixtape offers an intimate glimpse into the mind of legendary artist and graphic designer, Matthew Curry. Mixtape is a bold collection of paintings, drawings and sculpture that explore themes of artificiality, reality, humanity and fatherhood. Mixtape marks a dramatic shift in Curry’s work as a painter, and illustrates an evolution in mark making that is both sophisticated and primal. This will be Matthew’s second solo exhibition with Lost Origins Gallery and will be in attendance.

With a career spanning 20 years, Matthew’s award-winning, graphic design and illustration has been profiled by APPLE, earned him two Grammy®-Nominations and an ART TALK feature on VICE®. Beyond his nominated work for Thievery Corporation, Matthew has designed logos for some of DC’s most well known restaurants and clubs such as Tropicalia, Satellite Room & Chez Billy. Matthew’s artwork has been commissioned by Fortune 500 Companies and hangs in galleries and private collections all over the world.

In addition to his work as an artist, Matthew has also been invited to speak about his work and process for National Geographic, The Art Director’s Club, AIGA, and The Corcoran.

Small works, prints, and assorted studio ephemera will also be on view, & available for purchase.

Lost Origins Gallery is located at 3110 Mt Pleasant St. NW.
